exploring a barbed wire planet

today my artistic side is coming out! im loving the images im making, this is one of the challenger in space, but i made a new planet out of rusty barbed wire and added new stars because the ones in the image before are rather faint :D

heres 2 images i edited and pasted together, one of a piece of lined paper and one of a man jumping, then i used a coloured pencil effect and blurred the man slightly to make it look drawn and smudged on. hope you like :)

lightbulb

i edited a lightbulb for our project for westhill primary, initially the image was sepia so i made the background a little red to make it feel warm and the lightbulb slightly yellow then did a lot of smudging.

to this image i adjusted the levels to make the sun really bright, gave the whole image a slight blue tint then added lens flare, not sure why i really just like lens flare :)

more new work for my portfolio

basically i created a sepia effect to the background and avoided dooing it to the flower itself, i then intensified the colour of the flower itself and it gave me an almost sin city esque effect.

first piece of work im going to submit...

We were asked to design name plates for our partners. I got Mark Colquhoun (who designed me one, you can view it here.)
Here is mine. (decided to ditch the wooden border and keep it simple :p)

Basically we were asked to design a name plate which describes their personality, he talked about beer and guitars so i decided to make them key parts of my design. Constructive critisism welcome.

My name is Dave Holmes. This blog will be my way of posting my work online for all to see and post constructive critisism (be nice).

First i'll tell you a bit more about myself.

• I am studying HNC Multimedia Computing:Web Development at Aberdeen College.
• I am nineteen right now which is soon to change.
• I am from a town outside aberdeen called Banchory, which is a struggle for travel.
• My hobbies include writing music (i play guitar, i sing and i play drums), playing video games, watching television and movies and i like going out and socialising.
• When the disasterous boredom strikes me and my friends we seek comfort in socialising in the neighbouring villages and towns or we travel to aberdeen.
